Replacing Nakagami who's having an operation.

That's interesting, now we can see if the Honda really is that bad. Zarco is a similar rider to Lorenzo so I'm not holding much hope

Now that'll be interesting.
I reckon on Taka replacing Jorge next season, so could this be a chance to Johan to work his way back into a full time slot? I hope so. And hopefully he can ride the Honda better than the KTM.

It's the 2018 bike though and Cal has said he prefers it to this years.

It does look easier. Taka is regularly ahead of Cal this season.

But they're still regularly 30-40 seconds behind Marquez regardless of chassis

Well that would be a very interesting development. If it's true I'm delighted for Zarco and hope that he can perform and secure a seat for next year.

Isn’t this to see if he can replace Lorenzo for next year?

Pleased for him, but given he rides similarly to Lorenzo, I can't see him doing well. I hope he proves me wrong!

As long as he uses Lorenzo's fuel tank he'll be fine wink

Or is Cal thinking of retiring? He had that horrible crash last year, this year’s bike is horrible. he maybe ready to say enough is enough?
This way they get to try Zarco which has the added benefit of benchmarking Lorenzo against a similar style of rider? Idle speculation...

I wonder if Zarco was aware of the injury/operation and that's one of the reasons he jumped ship scratchchin

Nope. He was about ready to slit his wrists at KTM.

Lets hope he finds form. I think the Honda will at least be easier to ride than the KTM, but its obviously no Yamaha or Suzuki.

Can’t see any blinding results myself? He sulked his way out of KTM, but does need some results if he’s not going to get dumped out of MotoGP. If there a time to bounce into some form this is it. I thought he was being touted as a Yamaha tester?

With the right equipment, he's one of the few riders that's able to mount a credible charge against Marquez. He belongs in Moto GP far more than so many other riders on the grid currently.

The talent in Moto2 and changes in riding styles etc quickly make last seasons alien look out of sorts.

Now is the time for JZ to show that he actually still WANTS to ride a MotoGP bike.
May be his last chance to show enthusiasm for the sport/team and fighting spirit no matter what.

Taka has just signed a 1 year extension with LCR. Which is great. It does leave the door/question open about if Jorge is dropped who will replace him next year.

Nonsense. MM is on another level and has the mental capacity and determination to take well out of Zarco's reach.

He had a couple of podiums and could be quick but only in a finite amount
