Home paint spraying setup
Discussion
I'm in the market for a home spraying setup and am currently looking at spray guns, with the thinking that this is the most important bit of equipment and will then determine what compressor I need. There are so many though, and with a huge range in price. Can anyone in the know give me any pointers?
I'm a spray painting noob and I assume that without a proper spray booth with filtration, I'm probably never going to get really great results, but if I could still get noticeably better results by spending extra on the right gun then I'll do it. And I suppose if all goes to plan I could eventually end up with a home spray booth so it could be worth getting a compressor that would cope with a whole car anyway...

A Devilbiss FLG5 1.4 would be the perfect gun.....combine that with a 3hp 150ltr compressor
Thanks, that looks like a very good recommendation and not horrendously expensive either. The same goes for a 3 hp 150 litre compressor, which (judging by the reviews on Machine Mart) was enough for one bloke to spray a whole van...bad_panda said:
Would it best to have the same kind of filtration they have on compressors used to refill dive tanks (which presumably traps any air, oil, small particles etc) or would that just be overkill?
A regulator like this will sufficehttps://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/an1-industrial-fil...

Nice one, cheers. The first thing to address is ….
…….."For the health and safety of my neighbours is it permissible for me to spray vehicles at my desired location?"
And secondly …….
……… "To maintain my health can I get all my PPG in place?"
Tick those 2 boxes before you compile your 'tools required' list

Yeah true, but that's already sorted. Poisoning myself or others was the first thing I considered …….."For the health and safety of my neighbours is it permissible for me to spray vehicles at my desired location?"
