Following the controversial case of a policeman acquitted of speeding and dangerous driving despite travelling at 159mph on public roads, it has emerged that yet more officers have completely broken the law and then been let off for no f:censored:g good reason.

One such case involved PC Dave Tw@tt of Chushire Constabulary who stole a car and then drove it at high speeds through the centre of Northwech, stopping briefly to score some crack before veering through a busy pedestrianised shopping street. However, the court was told that as a crime prevention officer it was vital that PC Tw@tt "familiarised" himself with the methods of local repeat offenders and that this included theft, dangerous driving and the eventual arson of the stolen vehicle.

PC Tw@tt's case follows that of PC Dave Shytt of Worwickshire Constabulary who last month was acquitted of getting whacked off his t1ts on cocaine and brandy because he was "familiarising" himself with seized goods, driving at 172mph in a 30mph zone past a school because he was "familiarising" himself with a stolen-recovered Ferrari, and then getting hold of a semi-automatic rifle and killing 14 people in a crowded cinema because he was "familiarising" himself with new police weaponry.

A police statement was quick to point out that all forces remained committed to the war on speeding motorists and that ordinary drivers should not assume they are above the law without first becoming police officers.
Scary thing is, if the names were replaced with something that looked real that article would almost be believeable....

Perhaps you could post the link to the legislation that provides an exemption to police officers who use drugs and/or shoot people.

I *thought* the enemy was the speed camera partnerhsips but the BiB on the ground?

Ah, you'll be wanting "cisternheads" for the plumbers
"circuitheads" for the electricians and "halfbraintwoheads" for the IT blokes.

Ooops. The smileys were all in court on speeding charges for 32 in a 30 when I posted, also my tongue was sticking out and therefore couldn't be in my cheek - so I had to assume that the element of provocative humour would be understood.

For the record, though I thought this was generally known by now, I support the police in general terms as custodians of an orderly society and purveyors of truth and justice. See, the rose tinted specs are still working. What's more I would indeed like to see far more traffic police patrols, particularly if PH's BiB could be cloned and spread a bit more widely on the ground.

Trouble is, being surrounded by chavdom as we all are to a greater or lesser degree, and being a law-abiding soul who's a fully paid-up member of the hard-working-class, and doing 30,000 miles a year including quite a few in BiB magnets, I do occasionally feel the dark side of the force.

At other times I read credible reports about it.

I see chavs vandalising local property and report it but nothing happens, ever...and then at other times see the police drive round and round impotently or park-up in stand-off mode when there's some, er, rough and tumble going down that's intimidating to elderly folk around here...my car gets bits stolen or other bits damaged and plod couldn't give a fk...my young sons are attacked with bits of masonry and tarmac and even when we show BiB the culprits they do diddly squat, then actually tell me straight-faced that juveniles aren't worth the paperwork as though I'll understand and not go back and sort it myself.

And I find my quality of life is seriously eroded for these reasons and because far too many in the police force have their snouts in the GATSO trough and fail to denounce the obviously failing 'speed kills' claptrap. What's more they gleefully support the tide of information pollution sluicing from Number 10 on this and other issues cocnerning the laughable notion of social justice when, to be frank, justice left these shores when those who were to be 'tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime' began to make a mockery of the criminal justice system.

I think of Martin Luther King Jr and his wise words:

"Just as it is the duty of all men to obey just laws, so it is the duty of all men to disobey unjust laws."

That makes me wonder about the general calibre of police officer we get for our taxes these days.

Then I read Sniff Petrol, smile, and post on PH.

OK?

Difference is Gone that if I dont agree with a policy that is causing people much annoyance and distress, I go up the chain of command and make a serious effort to change it

In fact I have done in the past and got several contracts a lot more happy customers and buisness as a result.

However what do the police say, how does it going again, "the law is the law"? Oh well thats alright then

OK indeed.

For the record I actually agreed with PC Milton's acquittal, yet I still found the SniffPetrol article funny. How can this be?
