Classic car insurance
Discussion
I've insured my Rileys through Bishop Calway for the past 20 years. Very helpful, very friendly, good value personal service: https://www.bishopcalway.co.uk
As always you never know how good,or bad, an insurance company is until you make a claim. Luckily for me I`ve never made a claim, yet?
This year my wife and I insured our daily drivers with LV. They then offered me 15% discount on a classic car policy, all the normal classic car stuff including agreed value,so I accepted. The premiums were much less than other quotes and I was very impressed with the way they operated.

My own experience (1991 Saab 900 Convertible, owned for 18 years) is a simple search on MoneySupermarket and just go with whatever comes out cheapest. Usually fluctuates between Lancaster and A.N Other (can't remember) but never exceeds £100 by much. I do it on 3,000 miles p.a but they never seem to ask for proof of mileage - I guess they can get it from MoT history these days. Car is garaged and not the daily driver, although I do always put that it may be used for commuting. Never made a claim so can't comment how good / bad they are in extremis.
I've been with Footman James for years. I rang around a year or two ago and no-one else came close on cover/price. It's a 4-car multi-vehicle policy, inc one modern, with Class 1 business use and unlimited mileage. I'll ring around again next year, but the business use and mileage limits the available classic policies.
