Ok I will soon be getting a company car of sorts which means I can finally sell the current dad wagon. General family duties will be covered with the new car so all of a sudden there is a chance of owning and running something fun.
So looking at asking people with far more car experience than myself for advice.
I would like something that could maybe do the occasional track day through the year but mostly would be used at the weekend when I wanted a bit of a fun drive.
Ideally I would like something with 4 seats but it wouldn't be a deal breaker to only have 2. So yea any suggestions would be appreciated.

I hadn't even considered the type r. That could be worth considering but I think if I wanted a hot hatch I would lean towards Renault. First thing would be aftermarket steering wheel though.
Definitely hadn't considered the convertible and as much as the kids would love the open top motoring I am not sure it would fit in with blasting down a nice b road or a track haha

Thank you all for the replies.
I am definitely going to do some more digging into the mini cooper as know very little about it in regards to performance modifications.
Mx5 isnt for me as I dont think it will have enough power without spending a whole lot of money on it.
Rx8 I honestly couldn't trust the ending going bang.
TT as great as it may be just honestly doesnt float my boat.
So a straight six in a z4 could definitely be interesting and something a little different.
Anyone got any input on the mini and the BMW?
