Would appreciate some help please ? A friend has been asked to play her acoustic guitar and sing at a charity gig and is looking for song suggestions for upbeat crowd pleasers ? she's a reasonable guitarist but nothing too complicated please ? Cheers !

Crazy Little Thing Called Love (minus the guitar solo). We Are The Champions would be another good one, I think.

Dream a Little Dream of Me is surprisingly easy for the average guitar player (the verse chords - as I play it - go C / F#dim / Ab / G / C / B7 / A / A7 / F / Fm / C / Ab / G / G7). I played this on solo guitar last New Year's Eve down our local, and it got people singing along.

Fly Me To The Moon. Excluding the extended intro, the verses are again straightforward. I use Bm7 / Em7 / A7 / Dmaj7 / Gmaj7 / C#dim7 / G7 / Bm7 / Em / A7 / D

American Pie? It's a lot of chords to remember, though.

Seagull, Bad Company - a great acoustic track but perhaps a little more melacholic than the brief?:

Teach Your Children by Graham Nash, bit hippy-dippy but nice melody

You Got A Friend by James Taylor - not really upbeat I suppose.

Why Does it Always Rain on Me by Travis, again a bit doomy gloomy, such are songwriters eh ? miserable tossers.

Georgie Girl by The Seekers

Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell - now we're talking. great tune.
