Just about to start working for a new employer as a sub contractor and need a printing solution. They provide me with PDFs of various letters which I have to leave when visiting leads which they provide. I basically have to get the letters which are A4 in size and contain a generic text printed and paid for myself. I have to fill account numbers, date and name and address by hand but the letters are headed with company logo and contain a pre designed text so they are effectively templates.

Any help with recommendations of a service I could use, preferably online.

Thanks Mike

Have you thought about buying a colour laser printer?

They're pretty cheap to buy and run these days.

Call Bollington Print Shop tomorrow. Ask for Matt or Vikki.

Ignore the terrible website; you've asked for a recommendation because it's impossible to tell who does good work from looking at Google.

Take my word for it, these won't let you down.

How many do you expect to print a week?

Are they all exactly the same?

Also, hand writing in the customer details looks awful. Mail merge so it's all printed in on a colour laser (second hand off eBay) might be capital intensive (OEM toners are very painful, third party less so) should work out around 10p a print.

I just did a quick calculation - I'm running at 4p per page on a HP Colour Laserjet CP1025 - although it will be a bit less as I've included the purchase price and cost of all consumables and they're not yet finished...

200 copies per week. They are all hand delivered and the same basic letter. Problem I also have is wasted expenditure if people have moved on so pre printing addresses is just a waste of money on top of the time I have wasted as I am 100% commission based.

You're paying to print the things anyway. How far ahead do you know who the letters are going to? How much are you paying to hand rank 200 letters a week(you may as well calculate the value of your time).

Honestly, if this is aimed at consumers, and comes as a printed letter with handwritten details, it would go straight into the bin. Mind you, an all printed one might too wink

Again thanks to all. Some great advice. I strangely and purely by chance met another employee to day and picked his brains. He is using the HP service and the 300 page option. I just need to sort the best printer now but fancy a faster one.
