Well of course it is not like a modern pdk gearbox but it works well as an auto. I have owned standard and wide body.
Had a blast with a guy at Le Mans in a narrow bodied against my wide bodied tip and we were the quicker car.
Plus a hoon down some B roads with a 550 maranello and a Murcielago and the Murci struggled to keep up.
I would have another tip tomorrow no problem especially as the wife only has an auto license

Only my opinion, but I couldn't come to terms with the fact that the 993 tip. only had 4 forward gears; to me, it always felt like it needed the 5th gear especially on faster roads.

I'd love another 993 at some point, but it would have to be a manual for me, I wouldn't want another tip. box.

If you're considering one, I'd advise you try one first, IMHO.

Good luck.

Yep sorting a deal with Northway is being a easy thing to negotiate. Ray is a great guy.

Reason for the Tip is cant afford the 993 with similar miles and history, owner etc.. plus don't mind the auto side for the driving i do

Can’t comment re 993, but we have a 964 tip’ so kinda close.

Ours is ‘4 speed’ which ain’t many in this day and age. In the 964 you don’t get any steering wheel buttons either, but you can of course, change ‘manually’ on the shifter.

It’s old fashioned, not the sharpest change etc. But, as always with a torque converter ‘box, if you’re prepared to drive the car and learn how to get the best out of the ‘box then reasonable progress is achievable. You’ll certainly not get the best out of an old tip’ on a short test drive.

For the short journeys i"ll make im sure the Tip S will suit me fine. The Northway 993 will come up a treat with a bit of TLC.
hopefully get the deal done shortly
