My VW Beetle is 32 years old and been in my family for 26 years. He was recently damaged in an accident and, whilst I intend to have him repaired (still negotiation with the insurance company) I am looking for a VW enthusiast who will take him and give him the TLC he needs to bring him back to his full glory. I will absolutely not sell him for parts or allow him to go to a scrap heap and, at the suggestion of a colleague, hoped that by putting a message on this site, someone, somewhere, would be able to help me find what I am looking for.

Mechanically he is brilliant and has been serviced by the same garage for over 20 years. The body work is a bit rusty but not bad for his age. He is tax exempt and has been converted to run on unleaded petrol.

So, if you can help, or know someone who can, I would love to hear from you.

Thank you.

Anita

Anita,
Here are a few ideas.
Try putting an advert on the clasified section of Pistonheads.
Do likewise with some of the VW websites & forums
www.bugsales.co.uk
www.volksmart.co.uk/
www.air-cooled.net/index.shtml
www.onlyaircooled.com/
Make sure you put some photos with the ads.
Also if you take the car along to some of the shows in the SE most have a cars for sale section.
Coming up soon are:
VW Expo 26th June at The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, Kent
Jacki Thomas 07733 328 934 email thomasjacki1@aol.com
Peppercorn VW show 9th July at Peppercorn House, Langley, Kent
Good luck with the sale
Jon

Hello Jon,

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately, the damage sustained to the rear wheel means the Beetle is off the road, but I will contact the e-mail addresses you gave to see what can be done.

Again, much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Anita
