Looking for some ideas on new watches to wear daily. Presently own a Railmaster and Seamaster but when typing it pains me when I see the scratches that appear when I hit my wrist off my desk.

So in the market for a new watch with a leather strap ideally. Max price around £1500..... any suggestions?

Both can look good on leather and /or NATOs, may I suggest that you don't actually need a new watch and you just buy a couple of straps instead?

+1 I agree with that, some NATO’s and leathers look great on both! Although, I find this as an excuse to treat myself to a new piece..... but if I don’t find anything where do you recommend buying a nato strap from?

Geckota. There's a seller on eBay who sells Geckota at a cut price, I'm guessing he has something to do with the company.
I'm not able to look it up at the minute.

For the sort of money you're looking at, i'd be thinking Oris, such as this one:

https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collections/oris-wat...

Trophy Husband has one over on the Wrist Check thread.

Or Sinn, who have loads within budget such as:

https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collections/sinn-wat...

I'd be thinking of Nomos too. Sadly, most are out of budget but this would be within it, for example:

I love Seiko and Omega, so would usually say one of those, maybe like the Alpinist or Presage, but I quite like the Farer watches too.

Timefactors and WatchObsession have a good range of quality straps thumbup

As for other watches to consider then I'd be looking at something that would work well as a contrast to what you already have.

Stowa's Marine Original (this one is mine) is a quality piece and under budget, though you won't be able to try before you buy, they also have a range of watches similar to some of the Bauhaus models that Nomos produce.

Stowa M.O.

Longines have a few that may fit the bill, for example -

https://www.longines.co.uk/watch-the-longines-mast...

A trick quartz movement in this one, and significantly under budget -

https://www.longines.co.uk/watch-conquest-l3-716-4...

Over budget however I think this is a peach -

The Longines heritage is a beautiful piece but I don’t understand why watch makers love to cut the 6 off with the sub second movement.

Whilst I am biased based upon my choice the Oris is, to me a very beautiful every day watch and I love it. I bought mine through First Class and their service was excellent. They explained that the watch was a special and may not be available but got one for me via Oris for 1300 quid! Plus I got 75 quid voucher against a case of fine wine at 115 quid with no obligation!
However it is all about personal taste!
The bronze Oris Big Crown Pointer. (I love the date complication, it is so obvious a thing to do!)

Embrace the scratches. smile

This Seamaster is owned by a local here in Melbourne, and I think that it looks great with the wear its suffered. There's actually a piece about it on Time and Tide.

I don't know which Railmaster the OP has got, but they look good on straps. It'd be cheaper than buying another watch, though I think that this might be an excuse to expand the collection.

Omega have a try your watch on a NATO tool at:

Here's the Railmaster on one of their leather straps.

Just picked this up yesterday. Would leave you with £500 left over. Tried on a Sinn 556 but it just didn't do it for me. I wanted something to compliment three watches, all on bracelets, and I couldn't be more pleased. Nice strap, clear face, display back, IWC like but with its own character, and something a bit different. 40mm diameter but no bezel means lots of face.

And I have no idea why the picture is the wrong way round!

Thoroughly recommend the Mühle Glasshütte watches. I have a big 29er and love the clarity and superb machining on it.

Nice 29er. I've seen one of these on here before and loved it. Yours maybe? Just that little bit different to the usual offerings. And I do love a coloured second hand!

Quite possibly mine. I do rate them - especially for the money.
Mühle Glasshütte are superb value for money and as you say, that little bit different.
I'm thinking my next one could be a Sea Batallion or maybe an SAR.

Thanks all for the suggestions - some beautiful pieces here. Decided to get a strap for my Omega and save up for something a bit more special.

Any idea if the Omega straps are sold in boutique only or are they available at Watches of Switz?
