redundancy for new starters
Discussion
Thinking of moving job to a different company, they are desperate for people so I believe the package will be good but they company is less secure than my current one for a number of reasons. I’m aware that without two years’ service, I could be let go for almost anything which would leave me in a hole financially. Has anyone got any experience of negotiating around this? Are businesses ever willing to negotiate contract terms to include some kind of redundancy for new starts or am I dreaming? I’d like to move but risking my families security is a line in the sand really.
Thanks in advance

Similar circumstance here, I'm not sure what industry you are in but I would be confident of finding a similar job to my original one within 6 months, so accepted the package and negotiated a 6 months notice period. It's a win win, rarely do companies enforce it when you leave (you can negotiate out of it) and they are obliged to honour it if they dismiss you
