VW Golf TDI MK5 Loud whirring sound

Apologies if this is in the wrong section!
I have a 07 plate Golf TDI in the last week or so it’s started to make a pretty loud whirring sound which gets louder on acceleration. It also is very juddery when travelling at say 30-40mph.
I’ve got it booked in to be seen at the beginning of next week but any ideas of what I could be facing would be a great help....

There's a list of things that could be.
Wheel Bearing
Brakes
DMF ...

Sticking brake caliper is most likely I'd say but that's pot luck.
