I'm all for protecting animals etc but i'm guessing the size of these fines is one hell of a deterrent! eek

It's all gone too far. There is a veritable abundance of bats here and has been all my life.

Hopefully. Well deserved fine IMO. I suspect he knew exactly what he was doing and the implications.

And your one off observation clearly trumps lots of actual scientific research to show they are in decline and their habitats are under threat. .

The last four houses in Hampshire I have lived in have had bats flying around the garden at dusk. The current one is right on the edge of the sea, which I wouldn’t have thought a typical habitat for them.

Weren’t so many at houses in Surrey and Sussex a few decades ago.
