Transferring data/pics from old to new iPhone.

I put the sim in my new phone, entered icloud info and then assumed all would transfer over.

None of the photos I've taken have transferred over and my WhatsApp messages are all out of synch.

Can someone please advise me what I've done wrong?

Are your photos on the old phone synched to ICloud? Sound like they are stored on the phone itself.

Go back to the old phone with the SIM inserted and in your camera settings, click on synch to ICloud.
