I have a gigaclear connection and wired from the gigaclear box to my MacBook, I can show 300mbps down and about 200 up.i have an unifi lite providing the WiFi.
I have just put in a switch ( netgear gigabit ) between the gigaclear and laptop. Speed the same on the laptop as before. From the switch I have gone 30m cat6 to another switch ( the same ) and hard wired a Panasonic tv and dvd. Now on the Firefox app on the tv, speedtest gives just 24mbps down and 23mbps up. Is this to be expected?

Thanks for the input. I have done some more digging this am. I took the laptop to the far end switch by the TV and plugged it directly to the switch. I got 295 down and 241 up, 7ms ping. This means the line to the switch and the switch is fine. I therefore take on board what was said about the device its self. Good.
My desk top, which goes from the first switch wired gives a simular reading, 322 d 228 up and 7ms ping. I am therefore happy the switches and wired side is fine. Good
Now, the wireless isn't. I can only get 57 d 301 up 8ms ping on my phone ( iphone 10 ) but can get 125 d, 100 up 14ms on my macbook, wireless next to the phone. Ipad is similar too.
So, the wireless is a unifi AC lite unit. It says good for 300mbps on 2.4. This unit is connected directly to the gigaclear router via cat7 cable. I have just reset the unit and it's much the same. Could the unit be faulty?

2.4Ghz is prone to interference and you’ll never get the theoretical max in any case. Your devices should be able to connect on 5Ghz so it would be useful to confirm which is connecting on which.
Do you have the full Unifi management service running somewhere or are you just managing the AP using its own interface?
It would be useful to confirm which band your devices are using and also perform an RF scan to determine what other devices in the area might be using overlapping channels. All of this is possible and quite straightforward with the Unifi controller software if you have it.
