Midlife crisis move this week. I put a small deposit down on a Maserati and am now considering a 180 (no cahunas)

I have 30k and want to buy this weekend

65 plate MB E63 AMG 6.3 Saloon only 7k on the clock 30k from a car supermarket
66 plate C63 AMG 4.0V8 Estate with 45k on the clock from a specialist
65 plate M6 Gran Coupe 35k on the clock from a main dealer
65 plate S8 with 30k on the clock from a main dealer

Thoughts , opinions , guidance

Maserati every time.
AMGs are cool but Maserati are cooler. Plus I'm sure I've heard very expensive stories of AMGs.
Plus.... the noise of a Maser V8 is music!

If go for the estate but that's only because. Don't just buy a car because you can, buy the car you're going to use.

Depends whether you want the show along with the go. If you do, Maserati. If you want to be discreet, S8.

Considering how rarely you get to really give it the beans I'd make sure it's something that feels special just to drive to the shops. A car built to be a £299 a month repmobile and then given a large engine just doesn't do it for me, so it'd have to be the Maserati or alternatively some sort of proper sports car.

Alternatively: Out of that line up, the C63 will be most exciting.
S8, E63, and M6 all present a somewhat 'disconnected' driving experience for various reasons.

My best advice would be dint rush out and blow the 30k. It's a lot of money and whatever you buy if you dont like it will be doubtful worth more than 25k to go and part exchange I a few months. Have a sensible look around at a few exames of each, drive a few of each and see if each time you feel that's the beat option. There is a big difference in experience from Grandsport to a c63 estate. Dont be rash is all I can say, there are plenty of cars out there and at this time of year your not missing much fun as roads are wet and slippy. Factor in servicing, running costs will be different, something like a Maserati main dealer history is much more important than a C63, us the experience of main Maseratti dealers is very different.

None of those cars you have listed will ever feel as special as the Maserati. They won't sound as nice and they definitely don't look as nice.

Some of them might be more practical, and some of them will be cheaper to run. If that's what you care about, then pick one and buy it.

If however, you want a car that you'll absolutely love, then buy the Maserati. I did.

Are you sure about the 65 plate MB E63 AMG 6.3 Saloon? I ask because I thought that by then they were all 5.5 biturbo rather than the na 6.2.

However out of OP's coices, for me, the C63 Saloon, does seem a couple of k overprice unless it's loaded with options.

I agree if it's from the list then the C63 is the one & I'm bias too
