2008 330i N53 - advice on engine codes and ABS pump
Discussion
Hi guys,
My brother's 330i (2008) engine has come up with the following fault codes:
2A2C
2A2B (mixture control)
2F9E (thermal oil sensor)
29E0 (mixture control)
29E1 - (mixture control 2)
He had it looked today by an independent BMW specialist as the engine makes a hissing sound, and there is a very slight revving of the engine even when the accelerator is not pressed. The guy said it is the engine vacuum that is damaged and needs to be replaced...he says it can take a week to complete work and will cost ~£700.
The second issue is that the ABS light has come on with the codes 5dF0 (pump unit failure) and 5DF1 (pump unit plug faulty) - to recondition the ABS pump it will cost about £300.
Can anyone provide advice on best way to deal with this issues and typical costs?
Also, brother is based in Coventry - does anyone have experience of reputable BMW specialists in that area?
Thanks!

When my ABS pump failed this year, I got a load of faults come up. Tyre pressure monitor failure, Stability control failure, ABS failure.
Mine cost just under £500 to refurb and refit - but that is on the Isle of Wight which can be more expensive.
Are you sure it is not just a wheel sensor.
Cannot help on the other stuff, sorry.
