Charges after voluntary termination of PCP.

We did a voluntary termination of my wife's Evoque recently, car was in perfect condition with the only issues being a tyre that was nearly on the wear indicator and it was due a major service in 1200 miles.

Now been hit with a £750 charge for tyre and service. Maybe me being foolish and not reading the small print but it this right? As far as I'm aware the tyre was still legal and as the service wasn't overdue are we still liable?

If you did a VT without signing anything, I don’t think those charges are valid.

If you did sign something when you asked to VT, they may be able to charge you those fees.

It’s a very grey area but worth a try for the finance company. Try just ‘no thanks’ in the first instance, rather than quoting law at them, which they may just quote back at you.

As I understand it as long as the tyre is legal and the service isn’t due yet then there shouldn’t be any charges.

Yeah I think they're at it regarding the service, I'll give them a call and see what they say.

Is the service schedule along the lines of "every year or 12,000 miles"?
