.....unlikely as it may sound ! Just started the dreaded annual ring around prior to renewal at the beginning of July. Clearly with insurance it is a case of horses for courses - companies who have been extremely competitive for others on here have laughed me out of the door. Given my particualr set of circumstances (1990 964 C2, aged 29, parked on-street in central London, one claim three years ago and girlfriend as additional driver) there are very few companies prepared to quote. Last couple of years I have been forced down the route of the 'big boys' - Admiral et al. I have yet to receive my renewal quote from them but I was paying c.£900 for 8000 miles fully comp with protected bonus - no doubt the renewal will come out the wrong side of £1K.
Anyway having had several knock backs and quotes of £2K plus, Asset Trust http://www.asset-trust.co.uk/classic.htm came up with a quote of £711.50, granted this is only 5000 miles, but I thought something of a bargain - and here's the clincher they have no trouble with me putting a roll cage in (try getting that past Admiral !) and were happy with any of the other mods (exhaust, seats, suspension etc.)that Admiral may or may not know about ;) All in all a good result it would seem.
They say that they do try to be particularly competitive on London policies - so give them a try if you are up for renewal soon. (No affiliation by the way ! )
Sorry for the long ramble - just very pleased on a slow Friday afternoon !

I use Asset Trust and think they are great. However, they don't do track days, so if you want that ...

Jamie, have you tried Norwich Union Direct - you're a bit younger than me but I pay £400 for unlimited mileage on my 3.2 - Berkshire on drive.

Yes tried NU Direct, they were about £900, so not too bad. Shame that Asset Trust don't do track cover, but frankly I don't tend to bother with it anyway !

Hmmmm, curious, Asset Trust told me that they don't do track day cover ??? Are you on one of their 'Classic' policies ?

SORRY!

I've just checked - I was with them last year - they don't do track day cover.

NOW I'm with Classicline Insurance. Tel: 01455 891330.

Classic Line DO track day cover. 3000 mile per year
