Hi all!

Can anyone recommend any good outdoor or indoor karting tracks in the southwest area?

Thanks

AJ

There's a good one at Wroughton near Swindon : 01793 814340

Another one at Hullavington just north of M4 J17 near Chippenham, and an outdoor one at Castle Combe circuit.

Good indoor one in Cheddar:

They also do those mini-moto things

If you don't mind travelling a bit, the 2nd biggest outdoor circuit is out Salisbury way ( www.wessexraceway.co.uk ); you can request (but may not get) some scary fast karts there too.

Edit to say: That's the 2nd biggest UK karting circuit

And... James - where in Wroughton is it? Never knew one was around there?

It's at Wroughton Airfield.

It's a pretty good setup, decent karts, well organised.

You could try the Clay Pigeon circuit near Yeovil. Outdoor and over 800 yds I think. May be wrong but I seem to recall it's the longest track in the UK or may be just South West? A good circuit. You've reminded me to go again!

I may well be up for some karting too: I've not been for years, and I only did it the once then (team endurance racing around a small indoor industrial unit circuit).

I've used the Salisbury one many times and it's very very good. It's not an outdoor circuit though as mentioned above, well not unless the roof's blown off the big warehouse where it lives

sorry my fault, I should check things out more before I spout them.
