Removed the tow bar from my 82' BMW 528i.
What should I do with the electrics?
There wired through a hole behind the bumper and then into the taillight.

Can I just cut the end of the wire, wrap in insulating tape and tape to inner wall of the boot?

Yes you can cut the cables in the 7 core at different lengths and tape them

Best way is to cut them off at the rear lights and tidy the wiring up back to original

Glad to be of help

The E28 is a real car

Solved a few electrical problems on E28s, E30s, E31s, E32s, E34s, E36s and Z1s

Always liked the E28s and E30s

Enjoy

Out of interest

Why 10 of them and why all 528s?

Haha my wife would ask the same question!
I've had 535's (e28 and e34) too but I really like the revvy nature of the 528i. A nice manual one is so sweet to drive when it gets a second wind up the Rev range.
A 535 is torquier but I prefer the way the 528 engine delivers.
I should really start a readers rides thread with photos of them all!

Very interesting

Electrics are what I play with, the engine techies never mentioned the differences between 2.8 and 3.5

Yes you should post them up, not so many have owned so many

Driving an E28 M5 a while back, taking a sharp right hander, rear kicked out on me then in and out once more before straightening up, the thing is there was a stationary car on the other side of the road waiting to turn right across my lane, the M5 danced around that car, every time I read about or see an E28 that day comes back to me

If anyone had witnessed what happened they would have commented "wow what a great driver"

A few may have commented "lucky bd" and they would have been correct

Enjoy
