I want to set up a few savings accounts but don't want the hassle of going into branch. Does anyone know which allow you to set up online quickly

Monzo and Starling both do that, assuming you open a current account - which takes minutes.

ETA you'll need driving license or passport at hand.

Whoever you bank with will be your best bet. Santander who I’m with let you open savings accounts online and let me set up my business banking all over the phone.

First direct don't actually have any branches to go into, all online or via phone.

I want to spread the risk so don't want to use my existing bank .. Natwest or HSBC.

Marcus by Goldman Sachs.

Just make sure you’re in the UK (in terms of IP location) otherwise it won’t work. Approx. 1.45% is their headline rate.

Probably best to avoid any German banks.

Agreed, most of the high street banks are going to offer low interest rates.

As you are no doubt a powerful company director and have a couple of million to stash, NS&I are offering 1% and you can save up to £2 million but this is 100% backed by the government so zero risk.

I'm not that fussed about interest rates. Just want to get the accounts opened easily online without going into branches

In that case how about premium bonds. That’s all online, you will need your ni number though.
