CANCELLED
Due to COVID-19

I'm currently finalising the Old Gits 2020 trip to Northern Spain. Our plan is to leave Portsmouth on the afternoon of Friday 12th June, spend 4 nights in Pamplona then 3 nights in Ojedo before getting the ferry back to Portsmouth for the evening of Sunday 21st June.

Details are available on the Old Gits website at www.old-gits.org/thenexttrip

We have 20 places reserved on the ferries and have allocated 15 16 of them. Anyone interested in taking one of the remaining places should PM me as soon as possible.

Always tempted every year, I'm on the mailing list. I'll have to see what Santa brings me new bike wise.

We have to book the ferries by mid November to be sure of a space. There are a limited number of spaces available on the ferry (the Saturday crossing from Portsmouth we originally wanted is already fully booked, hence we're now on the Friday sailing) and I have to confirm them by mid November or loose them. Waiting until Christmas will likely be too late.

Sadly I can't join the Old Gits next year but the trip to the Dolomites this year was fantastic. Highly recommended.

Ferry rate now confirmed. I've managed to get a group discount rate on the return crossing of £495. That's bike and rider, with a single occupancy cabin (for the rider, not the bike … wink ) both there and back.

There are ONLY 20 bike spaces on the ferry and we currently have them all reserved but I can only hold them for a couple of weeks. If you are thinking of joining us then now is the time to commit. We have 4 spaces left and, when they're gone …

Do you need the bike reg for the ferry? I'm likely to replace mine in the next few months.

They will need a reg no at booking but there are no issues with subsequently changing that for a different reg no.

I went in 2016 on a Old Gits trip to Spain, very well organised and great mix of people....

Very much recommend group to go with.

Update:

We’ve got 16 people booked on the trip. The numbers have been limited by availability of places on ferries both there and back.

As is often the case on such trips, people’s plans change and there is now the possibility of additional/alternative options:

1. There is one member of the group who may be have to drop out for medical reasons. If you’re interested in taking over his place on the trip then let me know.

2. Two of the group have decided to ride down to Spain but use the ferry back. That means we have two ferry slots from Portsmouth to Santander, leaving Friday 12th June, that can be sold on. These are for bike and rider with a single use cabin but would be easy to upgrade to include pillion. If you would be interested in buying these ferry crossings then let me know.

Single use cabin you say? So once left after the first shower/snooze you can't get back in?
