Kempston junction on the A421. Opinions over right of way.

I had a little chat with a Polish lad after we nearly had a bump on this junction. I am not going to say who was in which lane, because frankly it doesn’t matter, and we ended up laughing about it. The exit of the A421 to Kempston from the East. If you want to go to Kempston you get in the middle lane when under the bridge, marked “Kempston” with a big “straight on” arrow. Or do you? Traffic on the inside is in lane marked “A421, with right turn arrow.” Who has right of way over exiting the roundabout in the outer of the two lanes towards Kempston. Is it car in the middle lane “Kempston,” or car in the inside marked “A421.” More importantly, do the arrows match with the road markings.
Is it clear? Come on pedants. Run through in overhead and then drive it in street view, to see if you can decide. Bear in mind the outer of the exit lanes actually goes to Kempston (second “straight ahead arrow” for following roundabout marked “Kempston”), and the other goes left to a housing estate.

If you are after pedantry, then both drivers have "right of way" otherwise the cars would not be allowed on the road at all.Is it clear? Come on pedants. What you need to be asking is who has "priority" in your example.
It doesn't really matter who thinks they have priority exiting the Marsh Leys roundabout. If you're in the middle lane at the lights, it's safer to exit in the left lane and then move over into the right lane once you see that is clear. Most of the time you'll be fine, sometimes you'll find that someone else has exited from lane 3 of the roundabout into the right hand lane.
It's much better to mutter under your breath, slot in behind them and to be on your way than it is to be arguing the toss at the roadside following a collision which then jams the entire A421/A428 junction for hours on end.

Bloody hell things aint arf changed !
I lived in Shortstown, Cardington for 5 years back in the 70's and learned to drive and then got to know the area and used to work at the Chevron service station .
The whole area is barely recognisable from my memory of the area .
I remember when it was mostly fields !

I use that junction every morning as I live near Great Denham and go to MK.
Since it has been resurfaced it has been remarked a lot better than it was before.
I find it hard for anyone to get the wrong lane now but you still get the odd clown who doesn't give a rats and just floats all over the place.
