Morning All,

I have recently been thinking about getting a weekend steer something to tinker about with. Having had a lupo gti previously, ideally i want one of these again but in a rare colour blue/grey with low mileage and they just dont come up often..

This got me thinking about other small rare-ish hatchbacks that are a bit special...

A lot of people will mention renault clio cups/swift sports etc but there are so many around. I like Ek9 type r's but not sure they are worth the money placed on them and they are getting on quite a bit.

Any other suggestions to consider/ look at ?

+1 on the BRM and the Pulsar.

AMC Pacer quite interesting too, could be had with a 5.0 litre V8.

Good shout on the Pulsar i remember being a passenger in one as a teenager, a highly tuned one - it was keeping up with superbikes !

Cant be all 3 at once.

its either a

Leon Cupra K1 (240BHP) pre-facelift only
Leon Cupra R (265bhp) this is also facelift

Good point, I could have been clearer, I believe you could get the K1 body kit fitted to any leon model.

Yeh you can, a K1 though is just a Cupra with the body kit added, K1 was a special edition (not numbered unfortunately) only available in UK and the body kits were added at the docks, usually painted poorly as well. K1 badges have since been discontinued as well.

Genuine K1 and facelift Cupra R are the rarer of the 2.

There is 2x Burgundy (2010) and 2x Kiwi Cupra R in the UK, 1 of the Kiwi ones is a 59 plate which was the UK demo model, it was used as pace car by VW Racing for a while, think its in Scotland now.

I had a 2010 ex SEAT UK press car Cupra R in yellow (easy to indetify as they were all KS10 EF* plated)
