Hello, first time Porsche owner here. One month ago, I've bought a 2013 Porsche Boxster 981 PDK, 33k on the clock. Loving the car so far, just wanted to get your thoughts on a few things.

1- I've attached the engine sound. It sounds like droning around 2000-3000 rpm. I have the standart exhaust. Could you give a listen to the attached sound and see if it's ok? It's here: https://youtu.be/nJMQkZYKWAw

2- I'm seeing water residue on door sill after rain, is it normal? Photo attached.

3- Couple of time after drive, I've noticed that there were condensation in the headlights , is it normal? Photo attached.

4- Is there are light in the rear trunk? smile I don't see it.

5- Steering is very hard, especially on slow manoeuvres. And on 70mph, on uneven roads, it slightly vibrates. Is it normal? I remember that the test drive car (718) was softer.

MOT booked next week in West London Porsche, do they have a look during the mot to see if it needs any work?

Thanks.

1 - I have a PSE, and 3.4 engine (don't know whether yours is a std, S or GTS) so exhaust will be different. However can be a little 'droney' at certain constant engine revs
2 - Mine does this. It's not inside the car so is OK
3 - mine does this also, not sure if it's a warranty issue, ask the OPC dealer when you get the MOT
4 - Yes, in the centre of the 'wall' of the boot directly in front of you as you look from the rear, when you open the boot lid.
5 - difficult to say without seeing/driving it. again speak to dealer?

I have 981 Cayman PDK, standard exhaust with twin tailpipes.

There seems to be a whine in your recording which I don't recognise, is that what you refer to as a drone?

Headlamps have never misted up like that. May be a missing grommet allowing air into it perhaps?

That whine/whistle doesn't sound right to me. Possibly a drive belt pulley??

Steering is heavier than a shopping car when parking, so normal.

1. Check side engine air intakes to make sure there are no leaves etc.. blocking the fans as that can make a similar noise.

5. Shouldn't be very hard, slightly yes, and you should not feel vibration, might need tyres balancing.

1. Agree with the others that the whine doesn't sound right. Could be a number of things so would get it checked out (I'd get an good indi to do the investigation before going to an OPC)
5. These benefit enormously from having the geo done. That would also help the steering, and they could have a look at the steering if you feel it's still not right after the geometry has been 'sorted'. Mine was done by 9excellence.
