Pregnant mum and child killed by 'abhorrent' speeding driver
Discussion
Very local to me and very sad, they had 2 helicopters attend this accident, one to take injured to hospital the other with heat seaker looking for her child, thankfully her first born was at home with dad but as there was a baby seat in the car they didn't know if it had a child in it.
The Porsche driver had just collected it from it being serviced, had his arm amputated at the scene so they could get him out of his vehicle but he never regained consciousness to know what he had done.

Totally bizarre driving. Driving like a man who’s got nothing to lose.
It is totally bizarre, who the f
k drives like that in those conditions, or tbh even in the dry, it looked busy. I've known some real scumbag driving over the years but that's way up there.I think everyone speeds a bit, some drive too fast full stop, some like a thrash with a full throttle squirt here and there but that is something else

Very sad indeed

This really brought me to tears just reading about it. So desperately sad for the mother and her family, and how unfathomably selfish of the other driver.
Yep.The elephant in the room - that kind of driving isn't uncommon, it's just relatively rare for it to end in tragedy. There are many people (probably including many PHers) who will think that's completely acceptable driving, and complain about people dawdling, or the Council/Highways Department setting inappropriate speed limits, or DWLs. or whatever it is that stops them getting a cheap adrenaline buzz, regardless of the risk to others.
The "f
k You, I'm all right Jack" attitude is sadly all too common.(Mod edit

This is a tragedy.
It makes me angry that our road policing has become so one dimensional. and nothing at all about a visual deterrent... that it allows that kind of driving to be considered by some road users!
I’d read of a bloke in a van being hit at a T junction by an older chap (old chap went straight out), a tragedy as he’d just had a young baby with his partner... but the van driver wasn’t wearing his seatbelt and was thrown from his van, which then crushed him.
I really hope this isn’t another case of someone not wearing their seatbelt who would have otherwise survived!

That's a shame the Porsche driver didn't wake up at some stage. What a
