early db9 audio upgrade
Discussion
thought i would rebrand this post as it covers something that had bothered me from day 1 , the Linn based audio in early 9s promised so much but was average at best.
at one point i considered replacing speakers thinking they were the problem but never got round to it.
My solution came by complete accident, i fitted a bluetooth audio / phone adaptor which in effect bypasses the volvo CD deck, the sound quality from BT audio is night and day.
My theory is that Linn did the amp , speaker set up etc, and make no mistake they are a high end outfit, but the source is a 90s volvo CD deck.
search bd9 bluetooth under £100 on this forum.

Thanks Craig,
It seems like a good option - I will now need to find someone who would like to install it as I'm not up to / have the time to do the opening up the dash board thing.
The speakers still seem like an area for improvement.
Let me know if you start doing a sideline on installs.
Sean

hello sean
its not that bad to do, if you read through the thread theres my description plus a few others that have done it, the hardest part is popping the top of the ski slope off, it makes you cringe when your doing it!! but it does come off, i used masking tape down the edges of the leather.
any competent auto electrician can handle the wiring connections and lads in that game are used to removing trim panels so i bet theres someone local that will breeze it.
when its fitted read madgadgets posts on this thread , he got everything to work properly and describes how to use the various functions,
as for the speakers , see what you thing with BT audio , the c**p i listen to sounds great!!
