As per title it seems that Footsoldier's stunning and unique GT2 RS is up for grabs at 9e for a bargain £340K. I wonder if it still has the full Manthey pack fitted which makes it an even better buy..If i was looking for one this is what i'd buy..

We have had the car at 9e for 8 months developing some performance parts for the car. The owner during that period has got into historic racing in a big way and does not see a time in the foreseeable future when he would drive the car. In fact i have driven the car a lot this year in testing more than the owner. So reason for sale is simply the above.

Manthey kit is not part of the sale. What I would say is that you would not want to be driving it on the road for long periods with the kit on - it is not imo a pleasant experience. On track yes it works better than stock. But also with stock and custom DSC module you get a much better result than just stock, and that upgrade is only £1200.

That is a good question. In the experience I had with one last year (albeit fitted to my GT4), I would say not. However, I know others have had a more experience than I did.

imo no, the .2 cars PASM has moved the game on over the .1 and GT4's sus setup. save your money, or buy a light weight battery.

Interesting finish, not for me but fair play to original owner

Was that paint job a dealer option? Why was it done at Reading rather than at factory?

They have cooling issues. Struggle to hold on to that 700bhp they have on track after a lap of say the Ring. Stock car is fidgety on road let alone stiffening it up even more. Is your GT3 nice for road use in terms of ride quality on our crappy roads here in UK?

It was a one off custom job for the car's scottish owner hence the scottish flag on the rear wing end plates..It was painted entirely by hand at Reading to an extremely high standard at some considerable expense..I've loved it since i watched the process unfold on Rennlist and if i had the money i'd buy it today..
That reminds that i must get Paul(yellow 491) to take the mothballs out of his deep pockets and buy this..At least then it'll get driven properly like the first owner did and not end up in a collector's climate controlled garage never to see the light of day again..

Yes the MR GT2 RS does lack, as does a stock GT2 RS. It lacks in consistent performance over multiple laps. It runs out of water for example after 2.5 laps of Spa, and then you lose 60ps on performance. We have developed high quality replacement intercoolers than lower temps consistently on track by 12c, which means the water lasts longer, and you retain more power for longer. These are being released next week.

We took the car to Silverstone, employed a race driver, and proved the above.

The owner of DSC owns a GT2RS. He is a race driver and uses his car on track a lot. He has developed a custom version of the DSC in conjunction with geo settings that makes the car a lot more predicable. So the answer would be yes.

DSC is always evolving - I would say that with the correct rear toe steer and updated version for the GT4 it is quite a bit different now.

Porsche have a bigger water tank, and better coolers in the gt2rs cs now,the water tank last the same time as the fuel tank, they say it looses a 100bhp with no water on the coolers, but i guess that would be dependant on the day.

Ha ha taff,i said on a reply to r i thought the paint scheme was hideous for on the road,a work of art for sure and fairplay to the owner, but not for me on the road unless i wrapped it,which would be a shame to cover up such work. The manthey conversion is supposed to have better road manners than the standard car i thought, developed on the ring etc.
Taff you buy it,i can drive it for you,and sell me yur gt3,simplessmile

I can'sell you my new RS as its got a smelly leather dash..I'm going to cover the dash with some old black plastic silage sheet to make it more authentic and make me look cool when on track.

Not sure where you got the information on different intercoolers re CS car - they are the same on the system - they do have a 20l tank and a different map amongst other things however.

Yes power loss depends on ambient temperature

Sorry, may be porsche motorsport were on about the differant mapping, its all in a very venerable position for damage and heat.
I was surprised at the core construction of the production coolers,as a good friend makes and converts coolers for most of the group c racers, whith big improvements, sadly marsdon will not supply cores any more to the autmotive industry,so he is now looking for something as good.
The 2rs is a road car and not a race car,i dont think it lacks to much for the road though,i believe the water spray only works at 80% plus throttle.

Water is only sprayed when
- above 50c iat
- above 5000rpm
- 80% throttle

All three criteria need to be met
