Cash back from a mortgage brokers

Has anyone had success in negotiating a cash back or splitting the commission from a mortgage broker. The one I am dealing with stands to make 1.5 % on a large straightforward deal . Plus .0017 per month on the outstanding balance .

The wife's mortgage bloke sorted her life assurance by replacing an existing policy with a cheaper one with identical benefits.

No charge for the mortgage, and a cheque for a few hundred quid from the commission for the LA churn.

My IFA was doing 2 mortgages for me a few years ago and of course I had huge associated costs with all that setup and asked him for a split of commission from one of them to help. He agreed. In the end I told him to keep it as he had gone above and beyond in setting up a SASS etc during a rather protracted process, but there is no harm in asking. He's doing 3 mortgages for me now (all with the same company) and I will be asking politely again.

I note that you can get TopCashback on re-mortgages too (!) but find experts in the field can add value worth far more than that! May be worth considering for a simple savvy jobbie though...
