Any good deals on wine going around?

My friends are getting married and I need a wedding gift. I couldn't think of anything else to give the couple other than something food or drink related. I was thinking of a voucher for a meal at a nice restaurant, but they have a 2 year old and it would make it difficult. So the next best thing I could think of was to give many bottles of wine.

I was thinking of getting a large quantity of mixed wine. Knowing nothing about wine, I thought it would be best to go with a packaged deal. I've seen a few deals on virgin wines and other websites for 12 bottle cases etc, but I need some help deciding. I was thinking a case of red and a case of white? If anyone knows of anything specific that's worth going for then I'd appreciate it.

I would personally go for quality over quantity but that’s very much a personal thing.

Why not gift membership to the Wine Society and a couple of cases of their Exhibition wines?
