Hi.
Could someone please tell me, what tyre dress do car dealers use. It looks like it sort of oil based.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Dave.

There are of course many trade dressings, one of the more popular ones is Autosmart Highstyle.

Cheers,

Chris

Depends what finish you’re after... high gloss or a more satin finish?

My current go to product is Armor All Extreme tyre dressing. It’s more satin than the likes of Meguiars Endurance.

Some of the tyre dressing stuff can age the tyre walls prematurely. Every now and then is ok but if used for a permanent shine the side walls will deteriorate quicker than if not applied.

that was what I thought - mind you this memory was hearsay in the late 80's/early 90's

I had a set of good treaded tyres sent back to a manufacturer because of premature sidewall cracking. I’m sure they were Michelin and yes middle to late 90’s. Prognosis was the tyre shine had prematurely aged the sidewall rubber. Since then I’ve used the stuff sparingly

I used to use Sonax but I’ve recently been using the Stjarnagloss Gummi and it’s really nice to use and gives a lovely natural finish to the tyre rubber.
