Just curious more than anything else. Twingo 1.2 tce 100. Owned the car for nearly seven years. 76500 miles, oil changed about every 6000 miles.

For most of its life this car has done fairly short stop-start London traffic driving (most days it did about 17 miles a day to work and back). But I've moved out of London to Sussex, and now the car does about 60 miles a day (3/4 motorway).

For years any time the car did a big trip (say a 400 miles round trip or so, maybe twice a year). It would use / leak a little bit of oil (not much, say after a 400 mile round trip the dip stick would be 4/5 full to the max line).

For the first 2 or 3 weeks living out in the country, I had to top it up a little bit every week (the same 4/5 full). But now its gone five weeks or so (about 1800 miles) without the level moving at all. It seems to me like water or fuel has evaporated out of the oil, or a seal has closed up somewhere (it seems to leak a tiny bit of oil from the rocker cover around the spark plug holes recently).

a guess- slightly gummed oil control rings not sealing 100% , the added revs and heat from longer trips has free'd them off and now working as they should
