Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi Has been killed in an operation in Syria, he detonated his own suicide vest apparently. Good, I guess it won’t take long for I.S. To replace him though

I often think these "decapitation" exercises are rather pointless. Another "leader" emerges to take their place within weeks.

I think there were good reasons why British Special Forces never "took out" Martin McGuinness or Jerry Adams.

Has he not been killed a number of times over the years?

Having chased your nation’s wicked mortal enemy and his three small children to their death with dogs is a situation which requires statesmanship to announce.

Unfortunately, Trump is all they have.

What else there to do? You'll never kill the idea behind his kind.

IF he blew himself up where ever he was did the soldiers get a lot of intel etc, so do we now know perhaps where his cash comes from can we shut that down do we have a list of contacts around the globe an can we visit them via predator drone etc.

Pretty sickening this morning to hear Cadet Bonespur bragging and crowing about how a man and his 3 kids were killed. What a disgusting turd he is.

They had plenty of opportunities. They just needed the ‘nod’. However, it’s better the devil you know.

I doubt it. Wouldn’t have done any harm.

I think he bragged about hunting him down, but the kids he lamed the blame on al-Baghdadi, as Trump notes people surrendered or were shot, its a choice not a great one, but if he made the right one his 3 kids would be alive. Also not he killed himself an his kids not the US SF.

So lets not bash Trump on this one. One of the worlds worst terro leaders is dead, thart on the whole is a good thing. He will be replaced an violence will continue but it sends a strong message that the other side of the argument (us in the west) are never going to back down.

The man killed his own kids; along with thousands of innocents.

Good riddance.

At least twice, but this time he’s ended up being moved with a dustpan and brush, so there’s no doubt.

He presided over some brutality that Adolf Hitler would have baulked at.

To be fair IRA weren’t mad dogs with a nihilist world view - they could be, and were negotiated with.

Even the BBC seem to be unashamed about their political allegiances these days?

Just reporting what Trump said I think.

Problem with this is the next one is lined up and the US are pulling out.

Compare to Obama's announcement about OBL

The timing of this is interesting, given the recent troop withdrawal. This won't have been a sudden action, there will have been intel and planning.
