I have seen little information about any aftermarket exhausts becoming available for the new Vantage. I know akrapovic makes exhaust for the AMG GTRs and also manufactures for Aston Martin race cars. Quicksilver also supported the outgoing Vantage, surprised to not see any options yet. Thoughts?

I contacted Akrapovic about a titanium exhaust for a V12V. No interest from them...

The 4.0 V8 race car exhaust is nothing like a road car, so don't see any potential. But side-exit exhaust for the win!

The GT4 cars have the same motor, exhaust exit points, etc. this is what I was referring too. No side exit, the car is too beautiful to cut into the fenders :-)

Is it only me that doesn't like the contrived "fake" pops/crackles that seemingly all modern turbocharged sports cars seem to make these days? Mine gives me the odd natural "pop" on up-shifting or overrun if I'm really on it which I quite like but every single shift/blip is just a bit much for me. Is it something to do with turbocharging or is it just what the manufacturers think we all want?

And before anyone accuses me of New Vantage bashing this is a generic comment as it seems to be pretty universal amongst modern sports cars.

It’s deliberately written into the engine software because people like it. Some applications are better executed than others...!

Does anyone have more info on the Quicksilver unit? Suspecting it is just a rear muffler/resonator replacement vs. full catback or unit that involves cat replacement.

Just trying some lateral thinking. You never know, it could work.

Some models of the AMG GT have the same engine and I believe have rear mounted transaxle gearboxes.

Might there be a way of making this exhaust system fit, to meet your requirements ?

new gt4 exhaust is just straight through at the rear so not suitable for road cars
The Vantage GT4 race car? Not sure what you are referring too...

GT4 is a sports car racing category. It can be considered a version of a road car adapted for racing, but the modifications are limited. Note the bodywork is almost standard road car shape.

A much more extreme category is GT3. Far more modifications are permitted by those rules.

When the first generation Vantage cars were racing, Aston Martin used the V8 engine in GT4 cars, but the V12 engine in GT3 cars.
Sorry to confuse, but there is one more category that Aston Martin competes in, the World Endurance Championship. That is the top level of the sport and one of the championship rounds is the Le Mans 24 hour race. V8 engines have always been used by Aston Martin for WEC, since they began racing the Vantage.

Partly built new cars are sent to Prodrive in Banbury. Prodrive then build the racing cars both for customers, and for the Aston Martin Racing team, which is managed/operated by Prodrive.

I know what GT4 is. You are single handedly derailing this thread.

Trying to focus discussion on available aftermarket exhausts for the Vantage platform.

You asked a clear question, which I then tried to answer.
I don't have to bother.

Anyway thanks for the telling off.
The tone of this forum is changing.

Don't worry Jon, not all of us are changing. smile

I couldn't care less for an exhaust for the new Vantage since I have the first generation, but I tend to read all the threads out of interest. And you GT4/GT3 explanation (which was very on-topic BTW) is really interesting, thank you for taking the time to post it.
