I'm quite jealous of his modern status as some bloke the media want to interview about everything unrelated to his craft, from badgers to astronomy to Pokemon cards but I suppose it's preferable to seeing some TOWIE Z-lister offering their views on another pointless celebrity.

If you were to be interviewed on Sky News what would it be about?

I think he's very well qualified to talk on space matters as he is a fully qualified astrophysicist.

Yes well we could all reach that level of expertise with the time and money and willing that's all, nothing against the bloke although he seems to upset people (beef with Michael Eavis at least) over his opposition to the badger cull which according to scientists and farmers is necessary.

I guess it's also the fact that he's got the time and money to collect some rare set of cards no one has heard of which seems like something more worthy of a local rural news segment.

No idea about badgers but he's a hedgehog expert. Owns a sanctuary for them.

No axe (genuinely no pun intended) to grind with Brian but he was interviewed on the BBC or some such recently with a farmer, the latter of whom supported the badger cull and explained, with facts, why it was regretably necessary.

Brian did not come over at well and was unable to provide any cogent response other that a bit of emotional stuff about them being beautiful creatures (which I agree they are) and that they had nothing to do with TB in cattle herds.

He does know his stuff about playing the guitar and astrophysics however

Reg Presley of The Troggs was an expert on Crop Circles.

I'm not sure if he was interviewed on the subject.

May got his BSc in Maths and Physics from Imperial long before he found fame and fortune with Queen, and was well into his PhD during the band's early years - and had research papers published - before he gave it up to concentrate on his muscial career. He finally went back and completed his PhD in 2007.

I don't agree with some of his views on animal welfare, but to say his academic achievements are a result of his financial success in the music business is just arse.

No we couldn't. You still need the intellect and wherewithal in the first place.

And it doesn't apply to May anyway. His academic career was already well established before he found fame and fortune.

A question, why do they call them land fills when the correct way to describe them is mountains of waste, land fill implies
filling in a hole and most I have seen create a hole to fill and then build a mountain of waste topped off with soil.
You may have gathered I am no fan of land fills. hehe

While he could leave it in the lap of the gods and see out his days lazing on a Sunday afternoon, going slightly mad, he decided not to be an invisible man, and wanted to break free and rush headlong into the days of our lives.

Not to mention the fact that he doesn't believe that the universe is infinite in space or time, after all, who wants to live forever?

Dr May also gifted an entire woodland to a village nearby to stop it ever being developed. It's lovely to walk round and I thank him for it.
