Howdy K.

Hope you are well.

Thanks for posting.

Question is, could it possibly be and sound as good as the pre filtered 991.2?

It’s hard to get too excited.
Same formulaic process, bigger, faster, more tech.....
No doubt the ‘best’ variant yet, but even harder to access on our congested, speed limited, deteriorating, road network.
Sorry to sound like a cynic, but I do think the ‘golden age’ has passed.
At least the ‘flipping’ market may have seen its day, so perhaps they’ll go to those who really want one.

Yes it will be quicker but also heavier and I guess the power to weight ratio will be almost identical to the 991.2

Guessing a sub 7 minute ring time almost entirely down to tyres and aero improvements

Sounds all on par part from the last line

“ 992 GT3 Performance improvement from 991 generation expected to match or exceed 997 to 991 generations”

That’s way to big a gap from a car with the same engine but more weight.

Only nice thing in the list is 255 tyres.

Personally i hope Porsche realign the UK prices more in line with Europe..Hopefully this will make a nice spec GT3 over £150k which will be enough to stop me changing my new RS for one.

I would be more impressed if it had a stripped bespoke interior which saved 50Kg so you didn’t feel like you were sitting in any other 911

I am intrigued to see what it ends up looking like because the Porsche Exclusive rear spoiler on the 992 isn’t a successful marriage of the 992 rear with a spoiler IMHO.

With likely10% increase over the 991.2 plus possible 10% Brexit surcharge on top the 992 GT3 will be c £160k with some spec.

No interest from me - very happy to keep my 991.2 GT3 manual - will not even bother talking to my OPC - so pleased to be out of the GT buying circus smile

What I am most interested in is the driving experience. All tech is only means to an end. Lap times don't matter - if they did, then you should be racing and then you'd need a proper race car

Weight difference IMO will be around +15-20kg. New methods of reporting weight may make it look different but for like to like specification between 991.2 GT3 and 992.1 GT3 it will be minimal. Any extra weight gained by speedster engine with GPF and widened bodywork will be offset by more use of alluminium for rear quarterguard and sills (as per 992 Carrera). The extra weight may come from the additional weight of larger PCM and wiring along with larger front and rear tyres and larger rear wheel...

The main real life actual weight gain of the 992 vs 991.2 is the heavier 8 speed PDK gearbox from the Panamera..I'm pretty confident that the 992GT3 will retain the same 991GT3 7 speed and if so then i agree that the actual weight gain will be only 20Kg.
From the most recent videos of the 992GT3/Touring they sound really good which leads me to believe that they have developed a different rear muffler.
