Has anyone racked up 200k + miles in a BMW with this engine?

I know the engine was used in lots of models 3/5/6/7/x6 etc

How reliable is this, if serviced every 5k miles? (Oil change + filter is very cheap to do)

Im at 115k and deciding whether to keep and do another 70-80k miles in it, or sell.. The EGR recall has been done already.

Previous motor was a 635D with the earlier M57 3.0D and that was fantastic even when i sold it with 160k on it.

I don't have exact mileage, but have a client at work with a 535d, think its 7 years old and is on well over 200k. It does a lot of towing a small trailer with digger on too.

I think he has basic fluids changed on 10k, then major/proper service on 18k. He hasn't ever mentioned any major disasters with it.

Edit - actually that may be the earlier engine looking at the age.

Have put 160k on 2 cars. No issues, but when I sold both, a week or so of chugging round town saw DPF issues. Both on original DPF.
