Android Auto not working on Columbus with Sony Phone

I wonder if anyone is having the same issue as me with my Columbus head unit (Skoda Superb) and Android Auto not working when my Sony Xperia is plugged in.

It's definitely a phone problem, as my work iphone works fine on Carplay and if I plug in a friend's Huawei phone AA works fine.

So I suppose my question is; Does anyone use a Sony phone to access AA in their car without issue?

I can then determine if it's a Sony software problem or a problem with my specific phone.
