Clutch replacement recommendation for Astra GTC 2.0 CDTi
Discussion
Evening all,
Out for a drive at night in my Astra GTC, I noticed the clutch slipping a bit when accelerating at 70mph in 6th gear. Just a slight slip, but enough that it was noticeable. It didn't do it again after that particularly episode, but I know that once these things start to go, they'll only get worse.
So, I am now faced with the prospect of getting a new clutch and DMF for the car, which I've only had for a couple of weeks (sod's law). Can or would anyone recommend an updated clutch that might he a bit tougher than the OEM one which is starting to fail? I don't abuse the clutch though I intend on keeping the car a good few years, so thought a tougher clutch might be worth sacrificing a little bit of comfort for. Or should I just go with the OEM kit?
Either way, I'm going to have to open my wallet and shell out!

It came from an Evans Halshaw main dealer. They did say in their parts guarantee that clutch replacement was definitely not covered so in spite of the problem probably having been there when I bought the car, I doubt I'll get more than a small goodwill gesture on the cost to replace.
I'm going to check in with a couple of local garages tomorrow and see what their estimated prices are. No doubt that the main dealer will be more expensive even if they did make a contribution to the cost.
