BMW X3 M Competition - Please Help!

Dear All,

I am new to Piston Heads and I have heard good things so may I please ask for some advice?

I am in the process of looking for a new toy and my local dealer has offered me the new BMW X3 M Competition for £599 a month with £0 deposit.

I had to make sure that this wasn't a mistake as it seems to be a very cheap PCP option.

I just wanted to make sure I am getting a good deal?!

the monthly + deposit + term + miles etc and see how much it works out over the term?

compare it against other deals.

giving the "599" number doesn't really say much, we'd need more info to see how "good" or bad of a deal it is.

It is over 48 months/ 8000 miles per annum and 0 deposit. Just got out of a company car so no trade in if that makes sense!

Seems to be pretty cheap for a car that's nearly £80000 OTR dont you think?

^ worth noting although that one requires a small deposit it does seem loaded with nice spec.
APR is low too, but nothing beats 0%.

Looks like you are paying depreciation only, which is a good deal with no capital expenditure.

Nil deposit and £549 a month for a base spec car over 48 months and 8000 miles per annum seems to be the cheapest out there

The deposit contribution from BMW/dealer is around £20k and the GFV should be around £25-30k I think

So in answer to your question - yes, it's a cracking deal

The deal will be for stock cars only most probably, and will be plus option costs

A list price of almost 80k for a small SUV...the world has gone mad !
On the PCP you are paying over £26,000 in 4 years without owning the car.
You can buy and own a nearly new BM for that and it will still be worth something in 4 years

The GFV should be £35K
To hit this deal the discounted price will need to be £56K give or take, a 35k GFV which is what figure already being quoted by TRL. These cars have a huge basic spec too.

Reviews say it's a very harsh ride and clearly they aren't selling well but it's a lot of car for the money

BMW have got a push on all X cars till the end of this month.

It was working out better for me to get a X3 20d with toys than a Countryman (50k car vs 39k). I went for neither in the end but the X range get 2.9 APR and BMW Finance contribtion (think the X3 20d was £4,250....

And sell it on in 4 years.

Or pay 26k for a new X3M over 4 years then have nothing to show for it

i guess the best idea is not to actually buy a car, then it won't cost him a penny... loads cheaper than buying an old 340 estate! madness!

I think you will struggle to buy a nearly new m3 m4 x3m and not lose this sort of money over 4 years.
340i is not in the same ball park although I agree it makes more financial sense.

I really don’t get the “....you’re paying £xxx and have nothing to show for it at the end” posts. What I think you really mean is the buyer is crazy buying a £77k X3 because no matter how you buy it you’ll be writing off money.

I’d hate to think what the car would be worth in 4 years it you paid £77k for it now. Certainly a lot less than £51k so as long as you have a guaranteed final value then the deal makes total sense for that model surely.
