Our car is 3 years old next month and cost of warranty renewal is £800 plus 111 point check plus Porsche assist, so well over 1k.
What’s anybody else done ? Risked it or forked out?

There are a few gremlins with the Macan which would make me take the extended warranty. The main one is the transfer box which can fail at any time and any mileage and I believe is a circa £2k cost to rectify. It's not unheard of people having more than one failure as well.

Having said that I'm on my third Macan, the previous 2 for about 2 years each and circa 15K miles each and didn't have any problems with either so as with most things automotive it is luck of the draw.

You can also negotiate the cost of the 111 point check to £0 if you try hard and you get a small discount if you take 2 years as opposed to one.

Personally, I think the low cost and comprehensive cover make it a no-brainier for such a high value vehicle.

This. Warranty is v cheap compared to the cost of repairs.

Alternatively run Japanese...
