Will a car be too powerful for me
Discussion
Hello, so to begin with a little introduction.
I'm nearly 20, would class myself as a beginner driver, did get called decent for the age by my old driving instructor and dad. I'm a careful driver I don't try and show off or do stupid stuff for the sake of being "cool".
I've driven a couple cars a golf V or VI can't say for sure and my parents 1.8litre A class merc.
But now I came to the UK to work for my education and a car back home (I'm a foreigner so sorry for bad english). I have my eyes set on a 3litre BMW 3 series sedan, year 07 or 08 (most models produce about 170 kW). Will this be too powerful for me? Eversince people noticed that this dream of my to own a decent and somewhat fast car is actually possible they started buggering me to buy something for sensible, and I started doubting myself after their constant nagging.

You seem quite sensible to have asked the question in the first place. Respect the fact it's RWD and don't skimp on tyres, have a degree of throttle control and understanding of a cars balance and you'll be fine.
You will drive like a Berk on occasion as do most people and you'll learn how the car behaves.
When I was younger my parents were concerned that I wanted a car that was *gasp* a 2.0L! It's just how parents are.
