Hi all,

Unfortunately, my dads XK 150 was stolen from outside his house in Herne Hill, South East London last night. It was under a cover and was only not in storage as it was going in for some work today.

Police and insurers notified but obviously if anyone sees anything online do let me know.

Appreciate it.

Matt

So an XK150, on a driveway, in London....under a cover?

Are you sure the insurance is valid? I’d almost expect it to be stolen.

The same London where supercars worth much more are regularly left uncovered on the street. Yeah. Read the post back re being on the street.

Jesus the neighbours Range Rover is worth more.

Anyway thanks for the helpful post.

It's a beautiful car. It must be devastating. I'm sure that we'll all look out for any sign of it.

Classic car insurance costs aren’t nice.

And where the vehicles you mention are also regularly stolen despite being far more secure than a 1950s Jaguar.

That's awful news, very sorry to hear it. I'll put the word around on FB and on the Clubs I'm in, using the pics posted here.

Hope you get a good result soon.

Beautiful car, one of my all time favourites. Really hope you get it back asap.

A car as rare as this won't be easy to hide. Get the word out across social media and make it too hot to handle.

I was wondering about that. I know people nick art etc, but is there a market for stolen classic cars?

I was thinking that. Or maybe breaking it for parts? It’s not exactly joy rider material and it’s not easy to start unless you know how.

We think it might have been taken on a lorry as the cover was gone too and that’s pretty big/heavy.

More then likely in a container on board a ship as we speak, to some non law abiding country. I really do hope he gets it back

Have a look for CCTV in the area, neighbours etc. Something will have picked it up on the move.

That's a real shame.

I hope it gets recovered intact - and that the scrotes who stole it get caught!

How long had it been there - I'm wondering how unlikely the timing is?
