A few years ago I had 08 vantage v8 roadster which I loved. It was service yearly irrelevant of mileage.

I’m looking at 11 reg v8vs roadster. Are these also meant to be serviced yearly? The garage is saying every 24k or two years. Is this correct for 11 reg cars? Has it changed from the early cars?

The history:

2014 3203 Aston
2016 17608 Aston
2017 18832 Auto Expert
2018 20387 Auto Expert
Now 23257

Obviously it should have had some earlier services but does it really matter when mileage was so low?

Anyone heard of “Auto Expert”?

Any thoughts?

Yes, it matters even if mileage is low and the seemingly lack of history rings alarm bells for me. I think that the garage is yanking your chain, move on.

The dealer is lying to you, which would put me off for starters. I'd also be dubious of "Auto Expert" and keep looking.

OP, I recently sold my V8VS Roadster to Hendy sports cars in Poole if you're looking.

It has full Aston main dealer service history and is very tidy, last service and MOT Aug 2019. It's a great car and has been under warranty in my ownership so anything that needed doing was done. Was kept garaged, has full frontal PPF and ceramic coated.

I have no interest in this car anymore, just pointing out to OP.

Me neither I should say but that is a seriously nice car!

I found auto expert. It was more a question of whether anyone knew what they like.

I have decided to walk away. If im concerned, then future buyers also will be.

Their website has a section for Aston Servicing, but the pictures on there show a Smart ForTwo, Defender and Renault Twingo in the shop. So they might get one in every now and then, rather than working on them regularly. I'm sure places like that are competent enough, but I'd worry about things being missed that an experienced Aston technician will know to look for.

When I was buying my v8v 4 years ago I went to look at one at a small independent trade that had just been serviced. When I asked where he said he'd got it done at the local Mercedes garage because "it doesn't matter where you get it done after the first couple of years". I'm sure there are people out there who agree with him, but I'm not one of them.

Its a shame that a car has to be serviced at the MDs when some of them really are so bad, have they changed the oil and filter on the very low mileage cars, have they done this and that? From experience, the answer is no.
