I got my OBDII reader today complete with Aston Martin and BMW software, Foxwell NT520 Pro. I decided to check all errors and I got a few but one in particular really freaked me out, P0001 tampered odometer reading? I am certain the vehicle has full service history with the only dealer in my city and this was confirmed when I last took it for a major service at 68K km. Is it possible the previous owner did it?

Is it possible to fake mileage on these cars anyway? I did some research and found a Ferrari dealer who regularly fakes mileage on Ferraris.

Any thoughts?

You mention kilometres, so presume not UK.

Do you have a system equivalent to UK, where we can see annual mileages for cars (after they are over 3 years old) on the internet ? Any significant reduction in odometer reading would be revealed and in which year it happened.

Out of interest with your ODB reader, does it show any top speed information ?
( Not that I am worried. It must have been on race track officer. - wink )

It's possible the mileage was "corrected "annually before each service or MOT meaning the mileage stays consistently low.

Easier than ever these days and top range cars are the biggest targets.
