Why Doesn't This Site Like VPNs?

I've recently started to use a VPN, which works absolutely fine except for on this site. About 50% of the time a page loads as normal, the rest of the time it will hang indefinitely on a white screen or get as far as loading half the reply box then give up. Happens no matter what server I use, and doesn't affect any other site besides this one. Any reason for it?

I've no problem when using a VPN.
I use Private Internet Access.

I've no problem when using a VPN.
I use Private Internet Access.
