An amp for a total novice

Sorry if this has been asked loads already!
Mr wife has been given a good collection of vinyl from her parents but no set up. I'm from a digital age and spotify and sonos and thought for her birthday I could do best of both worlds and get a record player which I have and a sonos connect to play it through the sonos speakers but I didn't realise I need an amp to get the sound out of the record player. I'm not wanting to break the bank on getting an amp and something either new or used anyone can suggest for under £100 would really help me out.
As you can tell I'm useless at this so any advice would be great!

Post up what the turntable is - you don’t need a normal amp (unless you have separate HiFi speakers) but you may need a phono stage.

OK that’s simple then - you just need a phono cable like this:

Just connect between red / white outputs on turntable and red / white analogue audio inputs on Connect amp.

I did this and this is where the issues it. I think I have got just the connect not the amp built into it (https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/connect.html) so i need an amp to go in between it the turn table & the connect device it would seem! https://www.amazon.co.uk/QED-Profile-Audio-Cable-1...

You shouldn't need anything extra - the turntable you have chosen already has a built in pre-amp.Are you sure this isn't just a configuration issue with the Sonos ? For instance, have you checked the Line-In input on the Sonos Connect has been set up correctly and is not disabled ?

It looks like the turntable has a phono stage built in to it.

OP said he had Sonos speakers - I assumed a pair of Play1s or a Play5 or something. It looks like the turntable has a phono stage built in to it.
Thanks everyone so at the moment we have a sonos beam in the lounge and that's it but I have asked santa for a play 1 for Christmas.
In the app I selected line in and played it through the beam but it was very quite on the beam even when I had the beam volume on 10 it was quite which made me think I needed an amp?

However I put the red and white cable from the back of the turntable to the in plugs on the connect and that's how I got music playing through the beam.
Again the connect doesn't have the 50w built in amp in it.

Possibly too late now but the benefit of the analogue sound and level of detail and imaging that is available from vinyl will be largely lost playing through a Sonos system.
You could just get the records digitised and stream as per normal which would be much more straightforward.
Preferably though build up a separate analogue system using 2nd hand components including speakers. The sound from this can be much better than a Sonus will ever deliver. Budget for total system from £500 upward.

Yep i actually initially thought about this but space is limited in our little semi & my grand plan of having sonos throughout the house super-seeded that. Interestingly though the quality didn't seem lost and we did get that nice vinyl tones and the needle bouncing noises through the sonos speaker the brief time we did have it on. You could just get the records digitised and stream as per normal which would be much more straightforward.
