Has anyone got a discount code for the Classic Motor show this week?

I usually go on a Saturday or Sunday but can’t go those days this year, it’s now £34 for the Friday!

I thought I’d signed up to the news letter which sometimes sends out a discount code.

If anyone has a code it’d be greatly appreciated.
I’ll await calls of me being a tight arse!

I know!
It’s £27 for the Saturday/Sunday & those are the cheaper pre booked online tickets, it’s more on the door.

I swear it was £20 last year.

No, it hasn't been £20 for quite some time. With a discount code last year, I paid £24.50 each, and I think there's a processing cost as well.

There are discount codes around, but they don't usually work on Friday - people pay a premium for what should be a quieter day.

I get discount through my club but £25 is still a bit too steep to go and look around some old cars and some stalls.

Yes, prices on the up and discounts only for sat/sun, parking is also only prepaid online but you do get a discount if done prior to the day which brings it closer to what it used to be on the day!

Hopefully they’ll realise that they’re charging too much.

Parking isn’t an issue for me as I live pretty close. It’s cheaper for me to get a taxi and back, means I can have a pint too.

Every year it's the same old, same old... entry tickets too expensive, parking is too expensive, just a load of old cars, and don't get me started on the price of a sausage roll or a cup of tea etc etc !

and yet, every year it's busy and every year on the long drive home I think its been another cracking day out.

Oh, and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Jaguar drivers club and their roped off cars or how much tat there is in the autojumble!

I'm going on Saturday and I'm very much looking forward to it thumbup

Like the Surveyor said, it's always packed, so there's little chance of that happening.

You can book Airport parking for the show this year at £10 and travel free on the monorail to NEC if you google it it will come up. The airport is quiet this time of year so they have seized an opportunity.

Last year was my first visit and it was good, however the parking charges stung and as a result of them and the ticket hike, I won't go this year.

A shame, but I was left feeling like I'd been fleeced.

I haven't been for 3 or 4 years.

I can go any day so used to choose Friday in the hope it will be quieter and there will be less traffic on the roads, but that is the dearest day!

And £10 to park seems like a p*ss-take for somewhere that is in the middle of nowhere. banghead

Plus many of the cars are very similar each year.

It may have been last year, or maybe the year before, but there was a thread on here from an exhibitor saying how painful the experience had been for him which seemed particularly sad - without people like him there would be no show!

I'm not disputing the parking charges, they are ridiculous if you park in the main NEC car park. But the ticket price hasn't really had a "hike", it's gone up by a quid since last year. I paid £24.50 in 2018, and £25.50 this morning, advance ticket for club member on Saturday.
