Had the TTS for about 6 months now and getting a little bored of it so want to get rid in the near future

I was pretty dead set on a M135i but as someone reversed into me at the start of the year, my Insurance has shot up so until I can get that sorted I might have to avoid it as they want about £80 a month for insurance

I've been through all the Renaultsports and while I would prefer to avoid one again, I have eyed up another Megane 265 as a fallback plan

Would prefer 4 usable seats this time, 250+ bhp, up to 13k ish, something that's a bit more fun than an understeer prone haldex system...

What other options would you suggest?

You already know the answer is to get the Megane, something like a Leon Cupra will have you feeling the same way you do about the TTS.

Or you could go for a last of the line 2.5T Focus (this is what I did) it's not as sharp as the Renault but it's close enough & that 5 pot is a peach:

Previous gen BMW 130i or 125i?

The 125i engine is a strangled 130i engine if I remember correctly, so a map takes it to 280bhp without forced induction. Seem to have a bit of a following.
Suspect the 130i would be roomier in the back due to the roof line.

If you're after more power the same generation 135i was available with the N55 - same engine as the M135i but I'd imagine will be cheaper to insure as well as buy.

I’ve never seen anyone with a bad word to say about the bmw 235i.

Out of interest what was it that bored you about the TTs? I’ve been looking at them, seems a decent car for the price just a bit unsure on its size.

I had a Megane 265 cup and FWIW it was amazing to drive (apart from the gearbox) but the interior was naff. Definitely a step down from a TTS.

ETA: should have read the thread properly. Now realise you've had one before. What about an M3?

Id go for a Mini JCW or a GP2

Loads of fun and better built inside than a Renault IMO

235i is just as bad on insurance unfortunately otherwise would definately have gone for this.

Mine has Tiptronic/DSG which I love, but I'm just not a fan of the way it feels like its constantly scrabbling for grip, even with Pilot Supersports. Its a really odd sensation having come from the M3
